The Roxy Jam 2009 opens in a very good mood on the Basque Coast!!
Its friday and the Roxy Jam opening ceremony begins on the Basque Coast. Surf, Art and music is scheduled with for instance a free concert at the Port vieux with Santigold amoung other artists. In a very good mood, the two californian riders Kassia Meador and Jenifer Smith present the Top 16 of the world's best longboard riders. After some tecnical explanations about changes of contest rules the photographers take a group photo of the 32 riders. The show can begin !!! The girls say they will do their best for a beautiful show !!We also see Sam Davis ,also named the godmother of the event. She presents herself and the Roxy boat, and takes the time to do a signing session. It is by then 7pm and the opening art tent of surfing photos will begin soon. So, rush to the art tent !It is not very easy to get a glimpse of the wonderful landscape photos of Eric Chauché or the underwater photos of Jeff Hornbaker because there are so many people !!There are some artists such as Stephanie Solinas and Franck Laharrague that present their work. Karen Decoster creates a very intimate and warm setting, it is like if you are following a road and discover the different photos on private spaces.
The Roxy Jam Biarritz begins in a warm, cool and sunny mood !!! Moreover, there will be some good surfing conditions in the following days... So Come on at the Roxy Jam !!
