Justine Dupont

Justine Dupont

The revelation of the Roxy Pro Longboard 2007, where she reached the fi nal at the tender age of 15, Justine Dupont is one of the very best European longboarders at present. This multitalented surfer, who is equally at home on a shortboard or longboard, practices both disciplines to a very high standard (she is a member of the French surfing team). Vice World Longboard Champion in 2007, the surfer from Lacanau followed up that result with a fifth place finish in the 2008 World Championships, proving that her achievement was no fluke. Having conquered Claire Karabatsos, five-times European Champion, she reached the quarter-fi nals of the ASP Roxy Pro Longboard 2008, despite simultaneously competing in the pro junior competition, in which she fi nished third. A physically tired Justine eventually succumbed in her duel against the American Leah Dawson, who went through to the semis. At the age of 17, the reigning French Longboard Champion has an acute sense of tactics and undeniable technical ability. It remains to be seen whether she will have the maturity needed to challenge the world's greatest longboard specialists, all of whom are older and more experienced than her.
